10 Teas China China is the true homeland of tea, with cultivation spread across all central and southern provinces. The finest teas are grown at altitudes between 1,000 and 2,500 metres. Yunnan, a province in the southwest, is considered the cradle of tea, as the plant was first taken from there to other countries. Chinese black teas are known for their mild, aromatic flavour and are produced exclusively for export. Vietnam Tea has been grown in Vietnam since 1825, when French settlers established the first tea plantations. However, the development of the tea industry was hampered by continuing political unrest, and it was not until the early 20th century that greater expansion occurred. Today, Vietnam produces more than 80,000 tonnes of black and green tea a year and several flavoured variations. The vast majority of green tea is consumed domestically. Black tea, on the other hand, is mainly exported around the world. (9)21332 Vietnam Red Tea Ha Giang NEW 60 g 250 g 1 Unique black tea from Hà Giang province in the north of Vietnam. The area borders the Chinese province of Yunnan. Tea trees grow here at altitudes of around 1,000 m above sea level. These tea trees are often wild and grow naturally in mountainous areas. Harvesting is done by hand, often in cold weather, when the leaves are dry and ready for picking. The brown twisted leaves combined with numerous golden tips create a mahogany-coloured infusion when watered. In aroma and taste you can find dark raisins macerated in Scotch whisky.
